PRIOR PROJECTS
Gamification
Development of multiple game prototypes using the Construct II game building software with the aim to develop a mobile/pc game that will aid those taking the CNA test study and prepare for the state certification exam.
This project also explored the use of the ADOBE CREATIVE SUITE (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) as a cross platform development software tool.
LIUNA
The Laborer’s International Union of North America (LIUNA) projects were grants awarded for the development of curriculum for eight learning modules in the first phase and for four learning modules in the second phase. These modules were presented to hospital and health care environmental services workers in the pilot training, and after and necessary revisions; the curriculum will be used for training across the country. The pilot training for both phases was conducted at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX with the first one in December 2013, and the second one in August 2015.
MBTI
Gathering data from 12 local community colleges using the Myers Briggs (MBTI) as a means to evaluate and correlation between personality type, learning style, thinking style and score on the CNA certification exam.
Webcasts
A series of webcasts developed to provide additional resources to instructors primarily of Basic Nurse Aide/Assistant Training Programs but also relevant to any instructor seeking to improve their classroom skills.
The webcasts include Writing Better Test Items, Instructor Motivation, Student Motivation, Student Engagement, and Learning, Thinking, and Teaching Styles. These have been developed as independent modules so an instructor can watch one of them or all of them, depending on their interest and needs.
